Perranporth beach is an easy one-mile walk along the new 'Saint's Way' off-road foot-and cycle path, which is a delight in itself. The trail is perfect for young - or old - to practice cycling, and its wheelchair and buggy friendly.
Perranporth is just the most fun little town to live by! The beach is so fantastic - for children to play, to take a dip, for surfing, for dogs to run, or just to relax and take in the breath-taking scenery.
We love our vicinity. Perranporth beach is one-mile to the west. It has all the ice-cream parlours, surf shops, pubs, cafes restaurants and takeaways you could need!
The Bolingey Inn, a quaint pub, is about half a mile along the route into Perranporth, as is the very trendy Black Flag Brewery. To the east, a lovely one-mile walk along country lanes, is Callestick Farm with its own dairy herd, ice-cream parlour, and award-wining ice-cream (we advise at least one a day!). Two miles along country lanes to the south-east is the very fun Healey's Cider Farm.
Best food recommendations nearby - too many to count - but probably - The Seiner's Arms in Perranporth, The Miner's Arms in Mithian (best Sunday roasts ever), Lewinnick Lodge in Newquay, Rick Stein's at Padstow; The Porthminster Beach Cafe in St. Ives.
Head north to visit a string of gorgeous beaches - Holywell, Polly Joke, Crantock, Fistral, Porth, Watergate, Porthcothan, Harlyn, Booby's Bay, all within a 30 mins drive.
Cornwall is the most exciting place to explore. Head west to the fishing ports of Newlyn and Mousehole, the art enclave & Tate of St. Ives, the romantic St. Michael's Mount, beautiful Porthcurno & The Minack Theatre, and wild and moody Land's End, all within an hour's drive.
Guests have exclusive access to the whole property.

We've listed the house for self-check in, but would be very happy to arrange a welcome host to meet you and show your around on arrival should you prefer.
Would you like to fully embrace country-life? Our flock of hens and one cockerel live onsite in a large and roomy chicken pen. They love to roam free around the gardens in the daytime and just need to be enclosed at night (they put themselves to bed at dusk, you just need to close the pen door). They are very very friendly, love to be hand-fed, and please do collect the fresh eggs each day which are delicious. Their names are - Eggbutt the cockerel, Mrs. Fluffybottom (the very friendly one), Chickpea (our chick from last summer); Persil (the white one); plus the orange rescue chickens who are: Gloria Gaynor, Hermione, Bet Fred and Long-Neck.
Our sweet cats, sisters Calypso and Couché, live in the basement and outside (you will mostly find them asleep on the vintage tractor seat). They comes and goes through a custom-built pet hotel, are extremely friendly and sociable, and you are welcome to let them into the house if you so wish by opening or closing their entrance hatch. Although Calypso is meant to be on a diet, she really loves treats and snacks (her treat jar in on the pet hotel shelf). She loves sleeping, snacking and sunbathing next to you. Couché is more adventurous and loves to be taken on a walk around the garden where she loves to climb trees with you.
Our guests typically love embracing Bay House country-life and feeding the cats and chickens each day. However please let us know if you'd prefer not to, and out estate manager will discreetly pop in to feed them daily.
